On Friday, October 5th, 2007, the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line "Freedom of the Seas" and the Carnival Cruise Line "Valor" were docked at the International Pier on Cozumel, Mexico. These two ships were sharing a narrow pier. They were so close together, that you felt like you could almost jump from one ship to the next:

After a day ashore in Cozumel, I am sure plenty of people drank too much tequila and had too much of the heat and sun, so it was no surprise that we heard a lot of yelling and noise between the ships on the dock. I decided to look out the balcony window of our port-side stateroom aboard The Freedom to see what all the noise was about. To my surprise, this is what I found directly across from us aboard The Valor:

So, now you know why they call Carnival "The Fun Ships"!
